Poems

Take a look at some of the poems I have created.

Poems created for families.

Shared here with kind permission from the family. Written for a true gentleman of Strathearn.

Gentleman Jim

Gentleman Jim with a smile as broad as the sky,

Your path briefly crossed mine, but now you do fly.

To be with the angels whose wings brush the air,

A watercolour palette of wonder you shared.

Flow with the Earn and crisscross the hills,

Stretch into Strathearn it remembers you still.

As an elder whose words touched so many people,

Whose faith now carries you high;

above the church steeple.

A kite flying over Yorkshire

There's a kite flying over Yorkshire its adorned with roses white

and a kaleidoscope of colour it's a painfully beautiful sight.

It reminds me of dreamy ribbons that lace around my mind,

bringing the wonderful memories that are only yours and mine.

Of green hills in the distance with dots of beckoning trees,

waters flowing pure and cold with a breeze that's blowing free.

Yorkshire stone has built them walls, it's mirrored in your soul,

it's carried you throughout this life, now it's time to return back home.

Soft as down these days now fade but that twinkle will always shine,

you've spread such joy along your path, I'm glad you walked  briefly on mine.

This wee song was created for my two grand daughters using my words and a.i technology for the music. There is no better feeling than hearing them sing my words back to me.
